Your questions, our answers

What you need to know before getting in touch — who the training is for, the legal framework, how it runs, funding, what happens on the day. Another question? Write to us.

Training & who it is for

Who is your training for?
My training is for companies of every size (micro-businesses, small and medium firms, large groups), for charities, for local authorities and for driving schools. Any employer whose staff use a vehicle as part of their work is concerned.
What is eco-driving and why train for it?
Eco-driving covers a set of techniques that cut fuel use, vehicle wear and CO₂ emissions. Eco-driving training can bring fuel savings of up to 15 %, with the outlay often paid back within a few months.
Do you run training for two-wheelers?
Yes. I am approved to teach the driving of powered two-wheelers for every category (A1, A2 and A). Two-wheeler training suits companies whose staff use scooters or motorbikes as part of their work particularly well.
Do you work anywhere in the country?
I work mainly in Île-de-France (Seine-et-Marne — Val d'Europe and around). Work outside the region is possible depending on the arrangements — get in touch to talk it over.

Organisation, funding & follow-up

Is it a legal obligation for companies?
Yes. Article L4121-1 of the French Labour Code requires the employer to assess occupational risks — including road risk — and to put suitable preventive measures in place, among them training for the staff exposed to it.
Does the training take place on site or remotely?
Both are possible, depending on your constraints. Awareness sessions can be run remotely (video call), while practical driving training has to take place on site or on the road.
How long does a course last?
It depends on the format chosen. Road risk awareness usually runs from half a day to a full day. A complete driving or eco-driving course runs over one to two days. Tailored formats are possible to suit what you need.
Can the training be funded?
Yes, depending on your situation. Training can be covered by your OPCO (the skills funding body) under the skills development plan. Get in touch and we will look at the funding open to your sector.
How does it work from first contact?
It starts with a conversation to pin down what you need (headcount, vehicles, level of risk). I then propose a tailored programme with a detailed quote. Once you approve it, we schedule the sessions and I take care of the whole teaching side.
Is a certificate issued at the end of the course?
Yes. Every participant receives an individual training certificate, and the company receives a session report. These documents can be filed with the company's Single Risk Assessment Document (DUER).

Category B licence & individuals

How many driving hours does the category B licence take?
Legal minimum: 20 hours (13 h in an automatic); national average around 35 h. What is signed off is skills (the REMC framework), not a number of hours. Details in our article “How many hours for the category B licence?”.
Do you offer accompanied driving (AAC)?
Yes: from age 15, after initial training, then an accompanied phase (~1 year, at least 3,000 km). It clearly improves both pass rates and safety. See our article on accompanied driving.
How can an individual fund their licence?
CPF (subject to conditions since 2026), the 1 €/day licence scheme for 15-25 year olds (interest-free loan), local grants… We go through it together. See “Funding your licence” and the page Funding.
What are the rules for a new driver (probationary licence)?
6 points to start with, lasting 3 years (2 with accompanied driving), alcohol limit 0.2 g/L (not one glass), the A sticker and lowered speed limits. It is all set out in “The probationary licence”.
Does an older driver have to take a medical?
As things stand, no medical is required for the category B licence on grounds of age (a European change is under way). A voluntary check-up is still a good idea — see “Older drivers at the wheel”.
