The questions that really
reach support
These are not questions written to fill a page. They are the ones that had to be answered for real, often enough that we wrote them down once and for all. Every one of them turns on a rule people think they know — and on which a good part of what you read online is out of date.
How long can a driving-school car stay in service?
Seven years, twelve years or sixteen years, depending on what it is used to teach. And the widespread idea that is wrong: past the limit, the vehicle can no longer be used at all, not just for the test.
How often does an instructor retake the medical examination?
Six years for cars and two-wheelers. Five years for the heavy-vehicle group, then more and more often with age. A fixed five-year reminder is wrong for most instructors.
How long does the school's approval last?
Six years. It is the only deadline whose oversight stops the business — and the expiry date is not the filing deadline.
How are test slots allocated?
The slot goes to the candidate. The monthly quota shared out by the driving school and its departmental coefficient have not existed since May 2023.
Your training capacity: where does the figure come from?
It is not declared and it does not come from your employment contracts. A quiet week is paid for in threshold three months later.
A question that is not here?
Write it to us. If it comes back, it will end up on this page — or it will become a feature.
